Analogue Photography on Poster

In 2018 the competition “Kunst im Untergrund”, organised by the nGbK (neue Gesellschaft der bildenden Kunst) in Berlin, celebrated its 60th anniversary. With the focus of the competition being “Making Posters Political”, the artists created posters under the motto “Right to the City”, raising the questions: who is the city and who owns it?
Mio Okido asked a women without a home about her view of society and invited her to take a snapshot of her everyday life in the public space of Berlin. What resulted was a poster parodying the popular Apple iPhone advertisements with the caption “Shot on iPhone”, which were visible all across the city.
